Darker honeys tend to have more antioxidants (and minerals), e.g., wildflower or better yet buckwheat honey

Frozen veggies and frozen berries are always good choices (thaw in microwave)

Make sure to get the plain (unsweetened!) whole yogurt, which you can sweeten (if need be) with whey protein power, berries, or stevia

Juicing veggies is another great way to obtain vital nutrients

Hacking the Overwhelm in Dieting

When you first start out on a new eating plan, especially a low carb diet, it’s very easy to get overwhelmed by too much information. The important thing here is to choose your battles. In other words, don’t worry about the “small battles” that nutrition experts will spend volumes debating- like coffee, protein bars, cheese, wine, and other nit-picky areas of nutrition. Don’t pay attention to the chatter! Some people get freaked out at the idea of giving up coffee or diet soda. The best advice is, don’t give it up! The important thing is to make progressive changes- not try to shoot for perfection right off the bat. If you are freaking out about eating low carb because you read that Diet Coke is not allowed, keep drinking the Diet Coke now…you may put that aside and give it up later (or cut down intake).

This is a journey! You don’t have to do everything all at once.
